Sempre bom lembrar que o fascismo é, psicologicamente, o movimento político dos ressentidos.

Artistas fracassados viram facho.

AI efficiency gains are utter and complete bullshit.
WARN filings expose 4.7k of Amazon's 14k cuts last month. 500 PMs were laid off while engineers (1,800 laid off) were hit hardest, mostly SDE IIs which refutes the "management bloat" narrative.

The trend is clear: Big Tech continues to purge junior roles due to "AI efficiency gains."
Amazon cut more than 1,800 engineers in record layoffs, despite saying it needs to innovate faster
Nearly 40% of the roughly 4,700 positions Amazon eliminated across Washington, New York, New Jersey and California were engineering jobs.

Generative AI tools are the blood diamonds of the tech industry. The technology is quite impressive and valuable but the ethics of how it’s made is questionable AF.

Almost every time I start to play with some new programming language I tell myself something along the lines of "I really miss the amazing #Ruby standard library right now!". Ruby is not without its flaws, but the standard library is very comprehensive and one of the best in the industry.

In 1948, President Mariano Ospina of Colombia signed a "tax on single men".

It imposed a 15% income tax for all colombian men above 35 who weren't married. This rule was in force for 12 years.

Traffic to news sites is plummeting as Google has rolled out AI overviews which provides answers without needing to click on links.

Google had no choice but to respond to the rise of tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity but this definitely feels like a snake eating its own tail.

Cloudflare is now offering a feature called “AI labyrinth” where it serves a series of AI generated pages to AI crawlers that ignore robots.txt directives.

They’re essentially serving AI slop to AI crawlers that are training off of a website’s content without permission.

Deliciously devious. 😈
Cloudflare turns AI against itself with endless maze of irrelevant facts
New approach punishes AI companies that ignore “no crawl” directives.
