They/She #DissentIsPatriotic
Voters: if you’re angry no one is on your ballot, bitch to your friends and neighbors who weren’t willing to run, not the elections office that was simply told which names went where. If you don’t like closed primaries, live in a state that has open primaries. These things are not in our control!

If you’re (rightfully) upset about the SAVE Act, your Senators are the only ones who can do shit to stop it now. Voter registration offices don’t have any say in anything, we just follow whatever current laws we’re told to. Trust me, no election worker wants the headaches it would cause if passed.

Bernie Sanders at Coachella wasn’t on my 2025 bingo card but it’s the most pleasant surprise so far this year

I often find myself missing people who I know don’t even think about me. Autism has made me spend my whole life not feeling like I “fit in” with the people I most admire and want to be close to, even when I put forth the effort to cultivate those friendships. It’s incredibly lonely.

If it happens, it happens, and we’ll deal with it. Definitely be prepared for the possibility. But we have to stop acting like martial law is certainly a few weeks away. And I’ll freely admit that have my own fears being fanned by social media right now. I won’t let those fears control me though.
Fact Check: Is Donald Trump declaring martial law?
Speculation is swirling online that the president will invoke martial law, which some social media users appear to be conflating with the Insurrection Act.

I thought elections would have job security. I was worried when 47 was campaigning and told people they’d never have to vote again. If the insurrection act is truly looming, my days in public service may be more numbered than I believed.

Reminder to self: when you’ve got a cold, don’t get your normal super high level of spiciness to clear out your sinuses…tone it down a bit.

I have a post-it note from a voter at my desk that says “thank you for protecting our democracy,” and I look at it often. Especially lately, when being a public servant is extra challenging.

Thank you Wisconsin. I know there’s a long and uncertain road ahead, but you did your part.

In case you wondered what your election office does after an election, we are now carefully going through the poll books to record who voted Tuesday. The ballot gets counted at the polls, but then we update the records with who voted. Your ballot choices are never tied to your record, that’s secret.

When even @rbreich.bsky.social is talking about the Lancaster special election 🤯 I wasn’t sure what to expect, but my voters did me proud…still hoping for a bigger percentage to vote this year in general, but it’s a start!

The Trump regime is starting to have a chilling effect on the four pillars of civil society — universities, science, the media, and the law.

My white blood cell count is above normal. I am not currently fighting an illness. It’s the stress of being alive in America right now, I guaran-fucking-tee it.

Finally was able to cancel all my Amazon services, and I actually think it will save me money in the long run…seriously, how often do we just fill our carts with things we don’t need in the hope it will give us momentary joy?

My agoraphobia on the other hand would love an affordable alternative.

We’re still fighting like hell. But we’re also embracing joy as an act of resistance.
