For those who don't know, the Center for Inquiry recently released a statement supposedly supporting trans rights, by saying there are multiple genders but only two biological sexes. The article seems to have been issued in response to a pro trans-rights statement by FFRF. The biological fact is that there exists no single biological criterion whereby humans can be divided into exactly two sexes. Chromosomes? Beyond the XX and XY, there are about a dozen others. Gentalia? Beyond the common two, there are a variety of configurations known medically as "atypical genitalia." Reproduction? Yes, there are exactly two kinds of gametes that are capable of fertilization; however, not everyone makes gametes, and some are born without gonads. Similar issues arise no matter what criterion is chosen: two categories aren't enough. Since the above facts are readily available, the article by CFI would seem to be an attempt to appeal to transphobes. The article went on to spout a whole bunch of transphobic talking points. Bigots are very often prone to try to make their bigotry seem "scientific" and "reasonable". CFI has done just that in this article. I wasn't giving any money to CFI anyway, but I will certainly not do so in the future. The article in question is titled "Response to Secular Groups that Claim Scientists Are Shills for Christian Nationalism" by Robyn E. Blumner (who is also affiliated with a Richard Dawkins group).

I'm an atheist and do not pray; Nevertheless, this does express my sentiments.
Once again, Franklin Graham is asking us to pray for Donald Trump. So, here goes: May the Gates of Hell open, swallow him, his entire family of grifters and every spineless Republican who enabled him. Amen!
