The thing about the racists at the Times talking to their little Nazi friends is it never occurs to them that we’ve been having dialogue between our communities and the broader diaspora about these issues of identity for more than a century, just… not with white people? This ain’t a gotcha.
Like if Black people want to have an intra-community discussion about what “African-American” actually means amongst themselves, that’s one thing.

genuinely, seriously, any product using AI should have to post this warning verbatim, prominently at the top of the UI for the entire time
Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

I think if we take away anything from the trans medicare coverage ban being taken out of the bill it's that pressure works. As stupid and futile as "call your reps!" can feel, we saw a direct result of it. Now you have to call and email your House reps saying you need the ICE funding gone.
