i, by complete accident, stumbled upon this article. what caught my eye is that the patterns look remarkably similar to the icons that #sunvox generates for new sequencer patterns. it's possible this is the algorithm used for generating those icons. really cool

creating a lookahead limiter in sunvox is a bit finnicky but the best practice i've found is to take your input and run it in parallel with a wet delay (1-10ms), set the sidechain to the undelayed signal and crank down the threshold. that avoids the distortion that peak zero latency mode can create

it wasn't until months ago that a fedi mutual told me about sunvox and since then i NEVER looked back for music software on linux.

as much as i love ardour's JACK interface, how well designed LSP plugins are, ardour's MIDI and automation tooling were so miserable to use and it really held me back.
