We use a similar technique on our 70 feet of sand in Florida. We add logs and grass cuttings from vetiver and native grasses for additional moisture retention and soil building. A subtle technique that makes big changes!

Did you know that in cities, cars are at a standstill 95% of the time? Thus, they serve no purpose 95% of the time, except to occupy valuable public space. Imagine how we could transform our urban areas if we reclaimed this space for parks, bike lanes, and pedestrian paths! 🌳🚶‍♂️🚴‍♀️ (from IMM Design Lab)

Reduction of pollution in Paris because of policies to facilitate safe bike lanes and walking in the city. People clearly love it and have gotten out of their cars and into the city. So many extra benefits, like health and stronger communities!

We incorporate native wildflowers and Florida friendly flowers into all of our orchards, farms and gardens. We always see an uptick in pest predator insects. Flowers also provide nectar for pollinators and we bouquets are popular to sell. #PlantFlowers www.researchgate.net/publication/...

We kayaked the Weeki Wachee Christmas afternoon and had the river almost entirely to ourselves (usually quite busy). Except for wild birds and this guy or girl. Magic!

We wait eagerly while passion fruit ripens - meanwhile, it provides beauty, pollen for bees, butterflies and hummingbirds and is a host plant for Gulf Fritillary and Zebra Longwing butterflies. The leaves are medicinal and the vine provides shade in FL heat - so useful! #permaculture #gardening
