It's completely fine to expand Chima's world through Ninjago (the series) even if you have to introduce new characters to do it (perfectly natural thing to do) but making it an offshoot of Ninjago through the FSM (both in terms of show & realm) just feels in poor taste

I wouldn't say so. The SDs are responsible for the creation of the universe N&C share, I don't see a problem there. It isn't like we've had 15 years of them being tied exclusively to Ninjago (the Realm) only for the show to suddenly go "oh yeah btw they also made Chima as a side project lol"

Not... really? The Wyldness is an extension of Chima's world, not the other way around. Chima can still co-exist as its own thing while sharing a universe with Ninjago, tying its creation to the FSM would just cement its entirety as an extension of Ninjago when it has never been that.

The quality of Chima as a show is irrelevant, however good or bad it may be reducing it to just being a "Ninjago thing" when it has never been that would be disrespectful. If Doc and Kevin really want to "honor it" like they said they would, making it totally derivative of Ninjago is 👎👎👎
