Crystal Caves from DK64 has an alternative track that was left unused — appearing in the CD release of the game's OST.

In DKC2, the song Death Parade changed depending on what the theme of the level is.

Even though they primarily worked on the Metroid series, it was Retro Studios that developed the Return series.

Despite this, they were removed from the credits of the HD port — with Forever Entertainment being in charge. Instead, credits say "Based on the work of the original development staff."

Due to the restoration work of Jammin' Sam Miller on YouTube, it appears that Mining Melancholy / Kannon's Klanking has a possible work song hummed by the Kremlings, rather than it being regular notes like the rest of the melody. The confusion may stem from the fact the original is bit crushed.

Donkey Kong Country 1 was said to have pushed the SNES to its absolute limits of what was thought possible, due to its 16 - bit limitations. To quote Nintendo Power Vol. 64 ( 1994 ) , it was described as " . . . sort of like building an engine that could propel a Chevy to the moon. "

Donkey Kong ( 1981 ) was the first game to initially have cutscenes and tell a story, something nearly every game does nowadays. It was considered innovative at the time, given graphical limitations and limited storage of older arcade cabinets.

Contrary to popular belief, the Castle Crush glitch will NOT permanently damage your game. All that is needed to be done is to clear the SRAM, and it should function.

Just replace the internal battery, and it should function.

Rattly is a FRAUD because he lacks a rattle on his tail, thus making him not a rattle snake.

Little is known of this scrapped ape from Donkey Kong Land, with him being dubbed as Fedora Kong. He appears in the 69th ( nice ) issue of Nintendo Power.

Jungle Hijinxs, the first level of DKC1, appears to be a mispelling of Hijinx / Highjinks, implying either Rareware ( or the DK Crew ) cannot spell.

Though if we go with option 2, given the crew is made up of primates . . . they did decently for the most part.

Trying to find an article about Tropical Freeze where folks in Vancouver/Toronto could play the game early and get a DK necktie. No one seems to have this archived, but does anyone out there remember going to the Toronto one?

Here's DK pictured with a duck at said event.

The Kremling Krew we all know and ( maybe ) love were initially developed for a point and click adventure game for the Mac / PC called Jonny Blastoff and the Kremling Armada.

They were ultimately repurposed for DKC1, with their high tech being stripped from their designs.
