The effectiveness is measured compared to controls? Wouldn't it make more sense to measure does protect against/doesn't?
October 18, 2025 at 9:04 AM
But that's rather low effectiveness, in 6 month at that? Or am I misreading it?

But your link is from Punjab, India. Are the results banned in Sweden?

if they would say toilet becomes filthy bc men pee standing up - thst a valid argument u can deal with. But no b penis in a room is as stupid as ship will sink when woman on board or sushi cannot be made by woman due to wrong hand temperature.

Just a thought - if it's impacted by sex hormones, would women taking low estrogen birth control pill have a different dynamic? Has anyone looked?

But I do think it's not only underreporting. Most likely there are several factors at play

I have a 10yo. Reallly hard to assess small changes in brain development as their learn and change so much and there is no way to know what they could have been without C19. I also see in kids changes that could be LC, or might be just teenage changes.

Anectodal: 50% of my 75+ moms friends have new or quick worsening neurological symptoms. They themselves however shrug and say, yeah Im getting old, my memory is not what it used to be, I need more sleep, etc. With selfreporting, symptoms may well be underreported or undistinquishable in older ppl

So in order not the get tariffs to import to US, a country has to invade another independant country, kill and destroy, and then they are eligible for zero? And why did Israel then get tariffs? No peace needed there, I guess.
April 7, 2025 at 7:17 AM
That's like saying that bc your car can in theory drive 250km/h, you get a traffic fine for speeding at 250 even if you actually drive 30km/h
April 3, 2025 at 9:20 AM
The numbers Trump showed yesterday come from some parallel universe (or someone who doesnt understand difference between tariff ceiling and applied tariff has averaged trade agreement max agreed but not actually applied levels).
April 3, 2025 at 9:17 AM
That's why most countries have low or zero tariffs on input goods and higher at final consumer goods. But average tariffs rates today in world are low. In EU it's 3.3% if I remember correctly.
April 3, 2025 at 9:16 AM
The other main thing is that many things are actually needed as inputs to local production (steel for example, or microchips etc). If you hit tariffs on that, it will raise the price of local production too, so you actually do not give price prefence to local goods.
April 3, 2025 at 9:14 AM
The thing is, you can't replace everything with local stuff bc either it is not produced (enough) or you like/need a different one. So tariffs can cause some replacement, but in general they just make things more expensive to buy at own market
April 3, 2025 at 9:12 AM
2 reasons for tariffs: get money for budget or make local produce relativly cheaper (just additional tax on foreign stuff, really).
April 3, 2025 at 9:11 AM
The basics are very easy. You can't produce everything yourself so you need to buy (import) some. You do produce some stuff others need, so you export. It is not always about need, but preferences so there is also cross-trade (US buys BMW, German buys Ford).

Soon there will be a wall around US, or maybe even a dome. Noone goes in or out. And you dont need novel pathogens, you're gonna fully enjoy the old ones.
