Nope. I don't pick parties and take " sides" with the one I pick.

That is exactly the problem. We think "our side " is better than the "other side "

This isn't a sport. It's our country.

A curious and interesting development. My experience suggests that there is broad confusion between primary and municipal elections. Hence, moving municipal elections to November is likely a net positive.

An H2O mentor told me about running a water district w/ high delinquent accounts. He asked the local cable company to assume billing for the utility. They did, delinquencies dropped. “Kodi people bring guns to the office if water rates rise a penny, but they never let the cable get turned off.”
Houston Public Works expects to raise water bills to fund a $4.2 billion overhaul of the East Water Purification Plant, which the department says supplies water to about 1.9 million of the 2.1 million Houstonians served by the city’s water system.
Houston water bills likely to go up as multibillion-dollar overhaul of purification plant gets underway
Houston Public Works says the decades-old facilities at the East Water Purification Plant, which supplies water to nearly 2 million Houstonians, are on the verge of failure.

Chris is right. Texas is uniquely impacted by Trumponomics. Texas is the nation’s largest exporter, not only oil but agriculture. It also has a sizable tech industry and manufacturing base. This is the state that benefited, ironically, from trade agreements, like NAFTA, the most.
Trump's tariffs could tank the Texas economy. The state is the nation's largest exporter, with oil and gas representing 60% of goods shipped overseas. Here's how Trump is blowing that up: www.houstonchronicle.com/business/col... @houstonchronicle.com #txlege
Tomlinson: Trump tariffs tanking Texas trade, oil and gas
President Donald Trump backed off on some tariffs, but those remaining put Texas’ economy at risk.

The great Kodini predicts Abbott will not call a special election because he cares not two hoots about the voters in TX CD18—a.k.a. his constituents.

Important read on TX political operatives reviving the playbook to mute journalism in Texas. @forrest4thetrees.bsky.social
DOGE Has Reinvigorated the Right-Wing Crusade Against Texas Media
Political operatives want to crush the state’s independent press. They’re using a crude messaging strategy.

It felt like a muffed political punt when it happened. Watching the political pile-on after the now-infamous football tweet seems significant. It has motivated people across the political spectrum to voice stronger and more unified opposition to school vouchers.

Critical writing here. Texas relies on federal spending. This is the first piece that delves into that relationship I have found after looking for the last few weeks. The implications to the state budget seem worth investigating further.

Did you know that tamales are one of the oldest foods that we still consume today? Historians believe that people have been eating tamales for 8000-10000 years.

This is a big deal. Look at what Congress can do when partisanship and ideology are put aside in favor of constituents.
The Senate passed the bipartisan Social Security Fairness Act and it is headed to the President’s desk to be signed into law. ✅

This means retired teachers, firefighters, police officers, and other workers will no longer have unfair cuts to their Social Security benefits.

Reading is fundamental to understanding gerrymandering. I recommend reading this👇
This Thursday, we get the first briefs at SCOTUS in the Louisiana racial gerrymandering case, which challenges the redrawn LA-06 (the dark red district below).

The case is a bit unusual in the GOP-led Louisiana & Black voting rights plaintiffs are on the *same* side.
