Inability to pass a background check to obtain a security clearance should automatically disqualify a nominee for any national security related position. And the media should ask every single senator to go on the record to confirm that they agree with this.
Some Trump Cabinet picks may have trouble getting clearances. Trump can grant them anyway.
Once Trump takes office, he can give security clearances to anyone — even those whose FBI background checks don’t pass muster.
