Modern English football is a 5-club competitive environment, and Tottenham are the 6th club.

Tottenham's trophy drought under Daniel Levy says much more about the changing landscape of English football than it does about any deficiencies in N17.

Let's dig into it.

6-3 is a different sort of loss. But to be clear, I expected a loss. I had 3-1 or 4-0.

I walk away surprised we scored 3.

We played the most in form team in the league and with our two starting CBs out. I don’t know how to expect any other result.

Would people have been happier losing 3-0?

When I was a kid, my dad told me, “believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see.”

That was before social media and deep fakes.

Probably need a new clause for the wisdom that says “believe less than none of what you see online.”
The NYT article about Blake Lively’s lawsuit is incredible. Her director/costar’s PR team texting

“Holy shit, I can’t believe how well our evil plan to destroy this woman’s reputation is working! Thank god no one will ever read these text messages!”

back and forth to each other over and over

I’m sure it is the confirmation bias talking, but what I would love as a Spurs fan is if our schedule didn’t somehow always coincide with the best form of the bottom half sides.

Unless it’s really the case that we aren’t built to take “easier” points and the “Dr. Tottenham” jibe is true?

If this platform is going to avoid going the way of the other place(s), folks are going to have to resist building walls between themselves and complete strangers on false or over simplified binaries.

The good vibes will vanish pretty quick if the place gets divided in half over and over.

I agree. Give them no oxygen. Reasoned arguments are one thing. Rage farming for engagement is something else.
Just my 2 cents. But my goal is to ignore the trolls. Give them zero attention. Block them if they annoy me.

I think the worst thing we can do on this site is re-create the ad hominem/ personal attacks that occur across comments on Twitter/insta/tiktok/ etc

So…another platform.

I fear that every time I flee a platform for another, I bring the trouble with me.

It is likely not my fault that discourse is dead, but I aim not to beat a dead horse.
