During my latest NAACP v. Alabama #freespeech research at the Library of Congress this week, I came across this NAACP membership card. It's a very important part of my research; the card expired at the same time that AL obtained a TRO ousting the NAACP from that state for 8 years!

I've just received the first proofs of my forthcoming #freespeech Journal of Supreme Court History article. I had forgotten that I had included this memorial tribute to my friend, Ken Kersch. Now I'm crying buckets again.

I love it when the mail brings used books that are immediately useful for my current work research project. The fact that the books have that old book smell is a wonderful bonus 😂
