Not regretting my decision to move my aquaponic setup inside and rig a grow light contraption so we can have lettuce all summer long with no bitter taste from the heat.

Can somebody check with Taylor Farms to see if every romaine lettuce purchase now comes with a barf bag and vouchers for toilet paper and an ER visit?

You know you’ve got to tell us what yarn you’re using! Here’s my WIP - also a sweater with yarn from fibre space in Old Town, Alexandria. If you haven’t been yet, you need to plan a visit!

Spent the weekend with an amazing view, and knitting, of course. I am about 1/3 into the many inches of moss stitch body, so there’s no going back. Probably going to be off textured knits for a while after this one! 🧶

Even before yesterday’s dumbest announcement ever, I was preparing for my most productive garden season yet. These babies still have a few weeks before they’re ready to go in the ground, but we’re making progress

My kids discovered Knit Your Own Zombie in my craft book collection and insisted I put down my sweater and make them each one. Frankenstein, here, is now impatiently awaiting his wardrobe #knitting #knitsky #fiberarts #crafting

Casting on a sweater with an entirely seed stitch body at the end of February is basically an admission it’s not going to be done until at least October, right? Setting the bar low now so I have some hope of beating my deadline #knitsky #knitting #fiberarts #yarn

I treated myself to a tensioned lazy kate for my birthday, and it makes such a difference in the finished yarn! Just a few more bobbins to go before I’m ready to start my first handspun knit of the year #knitsky #fiberarts

If I finish this stranded cardigan I began during covid lockdowns and have knit a few rounds of every year since, will it end this nightmare? Maybe the other side is waiting just beyond a bound off yoke? I should probably pick it up and see what happens …

I think this may be my new favorite sandwich bread. Honey oat sourdough with freshly milled whole wheat flour and sunrise flour mills heritage bread flour. It’s a relatively high hydration dough but the crumb is incredibly tender #breadsky

Really hoping this batch of sandwich bread finishes its bulk ferment in time for me to bake and still go to bed at a reasonable hour. Honey oat sandwich bread with freshly milled red wheat and sunrise flour mills heritage wheat bread flour #breadsky

Sourdough focaccia with manchego, dates, honey, and rosemary made for my partner’s public library coworkers. Ensuring free access to information is a hard job, and they deserve all the good food!

Egg prices as of 12/9 versus today. And no - there’s no sale on eggs to be found currently. If I’m remembering correctly, this 100% have everything to do with who the president is 🧐

Continuing on the #bagel theme - baking batches in succession because it’s time to perfect the recipe and method. Clearly my rolling and coiling needs help

Thanking myself for mixing bagel dough yesterday, even though I really didn’t want to, because #sourdough bagels make any day a little easier to get through
