Can you make sure the Steam Machine's intro animation links to the logo before and the UI after, kinda like these transitions I added to the GabeCube:

Don't hate me guys, but you're a little tone deaf and dismissive in your response here. Valve offered a cheap upgrade for 70% of the current PC user base, that will also pull in even more new customers into PC gaming. This really is the biggest moment in PC gaming even more than the 30-series launch

@dachsjaeger.bsky.social The leak comes from the Quanta factory debug in Taiwan. It'll run Steam OS of course but it was benchmarked with Windows for some odd reason. If you do discuss it, please touch on expected ray tracing performance versus the PS5 Pro!

The only drawback I see, is that it creates a split in the 'SteamOS compatability score' depending on whether we're talking about one running ARM-Proton or x86-Proton. Otherwise, the benchmarks I've seen for Cyberpunk on the Switch 2 are just mind boggling on that low a TDP.

Honestly, @plagman.bsky.social 's absolute denial of a Z2 Deck 2 sounds like a confirmation of the recent leak that the Deck 2 will have an ARM CPU running the leaked x86-to-ARM Proton. Looking at how performant the Switch 2 is at such low TDP, I can see the appeal. I only wish it has good RT cores.

I think I'll revert to Santiago's settings for 30 fps that actually looks better and doesn't use framegen: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jPxU...

I'm at work now but it looks like this guy made the best optimized settings for TLOU2 on the Deck: youtu.be/jPxUvaf_fgE

Interesting. Thanks for making that video. I did notice it gets slower input lag if the actual framerate is much higher than the lock, but with better frametimes. I'll experiment again with the in-game frame limiter.
April 8, 2025 at 7:53 AM
Hey Alex, I stand corrected... Frametimes are bad even with Valve's lock. The only way to fix frametimes in Seattle results in massive lag...
April 7, 2025 at 7:00 AM
Thanks Alex! I'll update my post with a video of this section (when I get to it) using Valve's frame lock instead. That said, everyone has pointed out that dynamic resolution scaling and the in-game frame lock were the only sources of frametime inconsistencies: steamdeckhq.com/news/the-las...

That's very strange. I'm even using Gyro 'as mouse' for aiming, and camera movement is instantaneous with any minor tilt of the Deck, not seeing an iota of input lag.
April 5, 2025 at 10:42 AM
This sounds like an LCD problem. Not sure about input lag, but Valve's frame cap on the OLED always results in significantly more steady frametimes compared to any game's v-sync+frame cap. Input lag hasn't been an issue on the OLED since a 30 fps lock will use a 90hz refresh ate.
April 5, 2025 at 10:17 AM
Don't use the game's framerate cap. Also, XeSS on Quality looks better than FSR.
April 5, 2025 at 8:35 AM
Hey guys and @dachsjaeger.bsky.social can you please correct your Steam Deck review of TLOU2 in the PC video? Frame times are rocksteady if you use Valve's frame lock instead of the game's. I've been playing through the first 3 hours on Medium with a few tweaks, no FSR, no framegen, at a LOCKED 30.

It was a complicated process TBH but this video helped.... But after seeing the new Holland Gameplay, I think the best thing is to install PES 2021, then add virtua red and holland gameplay to it.

Here's the video to add sider to a game: www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEE-...

I just wish we knew which AMD chipset is going into the Fremont, and if it will be as good as the PS5 Pro when it comes to Ray Tracing.
February 28, 2025 at 6:55 PM
I totally forgot it was coming out that soon. I've been saving Miles Morales till the Valve Fremont lands because my Deck isn't good enough to run it with RT.
January 27, 2025 at 11:17 AM
Yeah that was a very disappointing interview. We need the Fremont this year.
