Massive shout out to my Chief of Staff who set up a tour of a cat shelter for Friday. It was great to see how The Tree House has grown since moving into Rogers Park. But seriously, hanging with @doctor1hundred.bsky.social and a bunch of kittens is a good day by any measure!!

Last week I spoke about the members I like to refer to as the Fearful Caucus. They just can’t seem to stop talking about trans kids.(00000973% of IL student athletes) This is where I said “I can only conclude that you’re obsessed with children’s genitals. It’s creepy. Y’all need a new hobby.”

Thank you to @govpritzker.illinois.gov for signing HB5373 into law today. We worked for nearly 4 years with a constituent who struggle to maintain access to her medication and doctors for chronic pain. Her bravery and determination will help make pain patients and doctors more safe in Illinois.

Repubs left the chamber rather than stay & defend the cuts to social service programs.

During a zoom meeting with a constituent today, his monitor kept moving. He finally showed us his cat who is having trouble understanding how the cone (or in this case, flower) of shame works. Highlight of the day, and an interesting meeting to boot!”
