FOUND HIM. Mr George Henshaw, consul of Genoa. Alongside his body (embalmed and in an iron coffin) he leaves his brother a ring set with sapphire which belonged to their uncle and "all my firearms muskets harquebusses accoutrements & furniture for fowling and hunting"

Quick pitstop at the ever-lovely Corfe Castle on the way home from Dorset to Devon, and a (surprise!) trip on a beautiful 1930s train - the first park and ride I've ever come across serviced by a historic railway.

Really didn't take many photos at @socialhistsoc.bsky.social #shsconf2025 because I was too busy having a delightful time! Thanks to the organisers, to new friends, to all the presenters, and everyone who listened to my talk. A wonderful welcoming event (plus, some new reading to take home)

Forbidden Territories is now open at The Box, Plymouth! I was so lucky to be involved in helping prep for this amazing exhibition, which takes you on a journey through 100 years of surrealism. If you're in the area I highly reccomend checking this beautiful exhibit out.

Some recent scribblings from Rebecca's latest Imagined Discipline's Creative Club workshop - creating poetry from jumbled up research articles, a strange creative writing-come-collaging session! If you're in Exeter check out her site: sites.exeter.ac.uk/creativeclub/

Had a great time today learning to play with some new toys at Soundart Radio with their media training for researchers workshop. Long live community arts radio!

Intro? Why not. My name is Kit and I turn my jack-of-all-trades hand to fibre and textiles arts, printmaking, folk music and dance. The rest of the time I'm working on my PhD on the construction of gender in early modern wills, with a focus on how material objects enable the performance of gender.
