About a year ago, I purchased two orchids from a nursery in west Miami-Dade. They were greatly marked down, because they were no longer flowering. I brought them home & waited, & I had no idea what color(s) would be. This is the first flower on orchid #1. #orchids

A young coconut palm has its first inflorescence blossoms. With pollination, they become coconuts.

Making its full debut in my garden is Rlc. Waianae Starburst “Volcano Queen.” It’s a hybrid in the Rhyncholaeliocattleya genus. That’s why they call it “Rlc.” I just call it gorgeous. #orchid
