Ancestry notified me of an update. I have genetic roots in Acadia -- and I soon discovered my ancestors had been victims of one of North America's earliest examples of government-sanctioned ethnic cleansing. #ancestry #genealogy #Acadia wp.me/p1w6cN-2TB
Adventures in Ancestry: The Acadian Connection

About a year ago, I purchased two orchids from a nursery in west Miami-Dade. They were greatly marked down, because they were no longer flowering. I brought them home & waited, & I had no idea what color(s) would be. This is the first flower on orchid #1. #orchids

Living in South Florida, I had to search in some old images and found this brightly colored oak leaf from when I lived on Long Island. In other words, #Autumn in New York. #BlueSkyArtShow

I live in South Florida, so the only #Autumn in the autumnal sense of the season is a display of mums at a local box store. #BlueSkyArtShow

After the #NoKings protest in Ft. Lauderdale, my husband & I walked away from the crowd, down a major road, & came across a church craft fair. We browsed, along with our No Kings sign. For many of the vendors, English was not their first language… and they each gave us a thumbs up & a thank you.

This is a surprise. An #orchid is getting ready to flower. I’ve waited five years for this moment, because this orchid was part of an Amazon purchase during COVID lockdown.
