Trump’s at his lowest average approval rate of this term, and near his highest disapproval rate. He‘s even at -8 net approval in the Rasmussen poll, where he typically over performs. www.realclearpolling.com/polls/approv...

Or Daniel Martin Diaz (who appears not to have been compared all that often to Paul Laffoley despite the obvious similarities, at least based on search results?)

I also get real Paul Laffoley vibes from it

Fox News still has a Musk/Trump hed/photo above the fold, but is fully in "Move along..." mode.

Breitbart was the first of the 3 I saw to put an Epstein headline towards the top of their page. It's still on the front page, but further down. The top is now focused on attacking Musks's MAGA cred.

Checking back in: Newsmax, which I think was the last of the 3 to report on Musk's Epstein files allegation still has multiple Epstein headlines up top, mostly trying to dispute the allegation but amplifying it none the less.

They all appear to still be in Trump's corner, and all them could bury the story by morning, but I found it significant that at least for tonight they're running with it.

Earlier this evening, I couldn't find any mention of Musk's Epstein accusations on Newsmax. The Fox News website had mention within stories, but no headlines. Only Breitbart was pushing the accusation in a big headline near the top of the page. But as of now, all three are leading with it.

Mothballs was one of my favorite comics of last year. I guess it's not the sort of thing I usually pick up, but when I saw Sole Otero's art I knew I had to have it. Check out more: www.tcj.com/i-love-the-i...

Banned Book Club is about, well, a book club devoted to reading banned books. In South Korea in the 1980s. It's a lot heavier than it looks. Sadly relevant to our modern times.

I slept on My Favorite Thing is Monsters for way too long, but I'm kinda glad I did because I'm not sure I could have handled the seven year wait between volumes!

It's about coming out and it's a murder mystery. It's about growing up in Chicago in the 1960s, and also the Holocaust...

One thing I plan to read this month: John Lewis's follow-up to March, Run.

I'm very open to more recommendations!

Here are a few comics/comics-related reads I recommend for Black History Month:
- March series by John Lewis et al.
- Jackie Ormes: The First African American Woman Cartoonist
- Invisible Men: The Trailblazing Black Artists of Comic Books

David Lynch's passing is hitting me a lot harder than I thought it would. I think it's because for all the darkness in his work, it always, at its core, represented goodness and fundamental decency. It's up to us to keep that alive.

I finished Gene Wolfe’s Peace and almost immediately started it over from the beginning.

Here's an excerpt from my novel-in-progress. It's a murder mystery about the deaths of members of a defunct 90s industrial rock band. This bit has the front-man talking about corporations and chaos magic(k). klintron.com/2024/persist...

I recently decided to start collecting a few Golden and Silver Age comics. This issue of Magnus, Robot Fighter is the starting point. It all started when I was looking at some scans of Russ Manning's Magnus comics, and I happened to notice that they're actually pretty affordable.

Buckling up for my first re-read. (I haven’t read Solar Labyrinth yet, saving that until I have at least one re-read under my belt. Haven’t touched the rest of the solar cycle either.)
