The Trump admin is now actively stopping people from GIVING FOOD to SNAP recipients.

Tougas Farms was forced to change a planned food giveaway after receiving this threatening USDA notifice to authorized SNAP retailers that they are not allowed to give free food or discounts to SNAP recipients.

My alma mater Holy Cross in full PR mode as Worcester starts asking about HC buying up College Hill and Rotmans.

Not saying they don't contribute to our local economy, but we have to talk about the endless expansion.

City Manager Augustus just stepping up to the microphone as he returns to the Ballpark District for CMHA's
October 24, 2025 at 12:37 PM
I've never seen what got codified into the Ballpark lease, but this is how former City Manager Augustus presented to the community how he personally negotiated a long list of community benefit which would include "10 community days".
October 7, 2025 at 11:32 PM
What a disappointment. The Ballpark Commission is voting tomorrow morning on an application to use one of the free "community days" at the ballpark to host an "active shooter exercise".

Busy weeks at Carpenters Local 336. We're dedicated to having an impact in the upcoming Worcester municipal elections. Glad to include @linhares4worcester.bsky.social as one of the local candidates our members want to stand with this year.

For anyone trying to understand why Councilor Toomey has taken such an angry and hostile position against Worcester adopting the Mass General Laws item on sprinklers needs to understand that Councilor Toomey continues to take significant campaign $$ from the development community.

At least for now, it's still the Frances Perkins Dept. of Labor building.

Seriously @masslive.bsky.social ?
What a racist lead for an article, and then to replicate it in the title. Cut it out.

Huge amounts $$ going directly from developers to Mayor Petty's campaign. More than I've seen in past years and more than I've seen media digging into.

And then there's this.

Chance to use Hiroshima and Nagasaki days as an opportunity to nudge #MassPOLI to action. Thx Mass Peace Action.

Worcester's Center for Non-Violent Solutions has organized a Hiroshima and Nagasaki memorial event for 6:30pm, TODAYAug 6th at Regatta Park.

Worcester has a problem holding contractors/developers to agreements. We can't accept this, whether it's Madison Properties' “aspirational hotels” or sidewalks sitting unfinished. The Crystal Park splash pad is the same. Bidding on this project closed in Oct., 2023. It should have been done by now.
July 17, 2025 at 6:37 PM
The media, pundits and apologists dismissing community criticism don't get it. Their shallow responses fail to recognize and understand that the closed pool and spraypark are a huge disruption to summer feeding and recreation programs which were designed to thrive off of these daily gathering spots.
July 17, 2025 at 5:15 PM
Another day in the 90’s. It sure would be nice if the Crystal Park spray park was open and not sitting unfinished, no movement, and no explanation from the Parks Department.
July 17, 2025 at 4:41 PM
And I wish it was just that, but it's not.
The Parks Dept.'s oversite of the construction of the Crystal Park spray park has also been a mess. With nothing happening for weeks, then dribbles. This spray park is still surrounded in cyclone fencing, "Under Construction".
This is all truly a mess.
July 3, 2025 at 7:47 PM
We were told all the pools were opening. That wasn't true.
In fact, the Crompton Park pool never opened. It still looks green and swampy like the everglades.

I called the Parks Dept. The official response is the pool will have a "delayed opening". The CM's Office blamed it on "mechanical failure".

Is there a way to get actual public meetings to show up on Worcester's new Municipal Calendar?
July 3, 2025 at 6:18 PM
Rather than work on constituent services or to improve public safety, Councilor Toomey is holding a special Public Safety Cttee mtg 5pm Tues. so Cipro, Petrone & Duffy can again try to discredit the DOJ report which exposed a long list cases of sexual assault & excessive force by the Worcester PD.
