No actual knowledge, training, or expertise to accurately understand and examine food and nutrition. The fact she is being platformed alongside the new Commissioner of Food & Drugs is horrifying. The triumph of pseudoscience at the expense of expertise.

It’s pretty easy to throw around this statement from behind a keyboard when they are talking about someone else’s situation (and assuming they know your motivation/rationale/needs) and not going through it themselves. Also easy to suggest that other people should be willing to fall on the sword…

power that voters have relative to elected representatives is not equal. Doesn’t mean we can’t or shouldn’t mobilize, but we need to recognize the power imbalance. And hold our reps accountable.

Indeed, but there are many systemic issues around voting that make it more challenging for certain groups to vote here. Add that to reps ignoring constituents (whether that is refusing to hold town halls, return calls/emails) and passing bills that don’t reflect their constituent interest, and the

The USDA has also initiated a compliance review of the University of Maine, citing the Gov.’s “blatant disregard for…EO 14201.” The press release goes on to say “compliance with FEDERAL LAW is mandatory for institutions…receiving taxpayer funded support.” So EOs are now federal law? Hmmm…
