New from me in @statecourtreport.org @brennancenter.org:

Because Texas’s default judgment against Dr. Carpenter aims to punish her for the protection of public morality & future pregnant patients, embryos & fetuses, NY courts aren’t obligated to recognize it.

New York Courts Should Reject Texas’s Attempt to Enforce its Abortion Ban Beyond its Borders
Precedent supports the refusal to enforce out-of-state civil judgments that punish an individual in the name of protecting the public.

In 18th/19th century, tie-on pockets for women went away in favor of form-fitting clothes. Women lost autonomy, not being able to take valuables in public & depending on men. They began carrying small bags but still vulnerable w/o full use of their hands. www.bbc.com/culture/arti...
'Girls need to carry things too!': How women's pockets became so controversial

Gupta: It is safe. That’s what the best-quality research shows. And how irresponsible, using the podium of the WH to put this out there when you’re not even offering an alternative. That is dangerous. An untreated fever is dangerous. Untreated pain in pregnancy is dangerous.

Way to go UB. Glad to see my law school on board with this.

Canadian MP Charlie Angus: I think what we're going to see is the conservative numbers in Canada drop because people are looking at the destruction that Trump is unleashing and Canadians are thinking, 'If this is what MAGA looks like, there's no damn way we're going to vote for it in Canada.'

Encyclopædia Britannica will continue to use ‘Gulf of Mexico’ for a few reasons:

-We serve an international audience, a majority of which is outside the U.S.

-The Gulf of Mexico is an international body of water, and the U.S.’s authority to rename it is ambiguous.
