In about 12 hours the nightmare begins.

Hold your friends and family close. Try to protect your communities and your sanity. All empires fall and madness can’t reign forever. Work toward that brighter day as we walk together through this valley of darkness.

One thing before tomorrow:

Use your local libraries.

Get your card.

Borrow books, manga, films, audios, ebooks.

Recommend titles for purchase (usually online).

Attend promoted activities.

Fill out those "How are we doing?" questionnaires.

Tell your kids that libraries are good.

They are.

OK, I need advice & want to turn to Twitter, so help me out Bluesky:

for my Murakami class, I am teaching “After the Quake” & “Kafka on the Shore” for sure. if I could, I’d teach 1Q84 as the third text, but it’s too long

so what’s the last major text you’d put on the syllabus? reposts appreciated.

Throwback to the time we sat our cats down and told them we were adopting a dog. I cannot stress enough that this is the ACTUAL picture from that conversation 🤣
