I became a teacher in my mid 40’s after a 23 year corporate career. The fact that I made 60% more money moving numbers around spreadsheets than I do traching children in a Title 1 district is insane. And I live in what is considered a very pro public education state with an extremely strong union.

Im not special ed but one of the things I Love about my current district is how much everyone respects our special ed teachers. Been in too many districts where what you describe is the norm. Worse yet some where they are just used as sub coverage.

Before a long plane ride a few years ago i bought a giant sized bag of them and took out all the cola and root beer ones and created a separate giant bag of just the cola/rootbeer ones to being and eat on the trip. It was very much the only time my wife felt truly disgusted with me.

It is a trying, terrifying time. Teen girls (if not your own than the others she and by default you will have to deal with) can be horrible and cruel in a way unlike any other.

That was Howard Deans plan as DNC chair in 2008 and also not councidentally the last time Dems won huge at all levels. Of course Obama promptly showed him the door to make room for one if his centrist cronies. Democratic consultants are poison. Over paid poison.
