I am not prepared to try to script this, but converting the starting Animal Companion diagram (bottom left) to any of the three options to the right handraulically is not that terrible. At least, now that I've got the tools I made.

Aw yiss... getting so close.

The diagrams -- their content and layout -- is all machine generated and laid out.

I see some improvements... but for a first-cut, no-intervention? I'm absolutely delighted.

Resharing because 1. useful, and 2. I want to find it again easily... because it's useful.
So anyway, I created an updated version of that XdanielArt chart that contains all the Adobe alternatives since there are a lot more now than there were back when that list was originally made, and Adobe has continued to get shittier and shittier.

Welcome to my 2025 A-Z Blog Challenge! This year, my theme is 'Small Gods'. Gods are often depicted as immortal, immensely powerful beings. Even if not omnipotent -- how can they be, when they can defeat each other? -- they are typically omnipresent. They can exercise and extend their power anywhere.

It is A-Z Blog Challenge time again! This year I'm going back to an older topics, part of my Year of the Lost: Small Gods. Small gods are semi-divine entities that can be focus of faith at local levels. In most roleplaying games, it seems deities are omnipresent, if not omniscient and omnipotent. It would suck to play an adventuring cleric who can’t do their thing because they’re too far from home. For those who don’t travel much, though, a small god with small powers that reach a small way… can be enough.

Not rethinking what I'm doing, so much as how I'm doing it. When I started on rewriting, I picked evasion, and rewriting evasion was easy. Then I tried rewriting weapon and armor proficiencies, and it's more involved than I expected. Evasion was simple because it is narrow scope and has specific effect. Proficiency rules are scattered between feats and equipment rules...

Random table roller is getting weirdly powerful, and I'm loving that. With the recent changes I now have the ability to manipulate table entries. Hmm... I haven't touched on modifying an entry, or inserting in arbitrary locations. Maybe later. Anyway, what I do now have is the ability to treat a 'table' something like a deck of cards. That is, so each entry can be selected no more than one time.

Yet more new tricks! A few days ago I added Seventh Sanctum functions to append to or replace tables. Today I added some other functions. addEntry appends a new entry to the table, with weight and optional mask. This entry is added as plain text and is not resolved when added. It will be resolved when the table is called later.

Revised the Deck of Ages. Replaced the 110 cards having a fixed set of nine traits with 16 cards, each having a single trait. Still an early draft, there is more text to add, but they're functional.
