I'm trying to imagine how quickly a sportswriter would be ostracized for telling a bunch of journalism students that he or she got into sportswriting because they always wanted to hang around athletes. To be sure, some of them act that way, but saying it out loud is insane.

(I flunked out, subsequently aced the medical lab technician program at college, and got hired out of my internship into an awesome job. Something's wrong with how we stream kids into post-secondary education.)

Relatable. History was ruined for me because the teacher was the football coach. He had His Guys, and then the rest of us, he treated pretty crappily. I can't even answer the quoted post; not one particularly good teacher of subjects I didn't like.
