It's kind of an unspoken rule of the universe that the people who do the hard things keep getting to do the hard things & vice versa, the corollary to that is that if you show any strain from doing all the hard things you're "difficult"

It's really messed up that his whole "women's brains are inferior" wasn't enough to usher him into retirement years ago

We had an acquaintance who clerked for two different Supreme Court Justices. But they "did their own research" for their kids' vaccine schedule. Completely nuts. (This person is, of course, conservative.)

I was teasing. Even not knowing the geography, I clocked his general b.s. just from growing up in a smallish Southern town. (But I also lived in Louisville for a bit and knew enough about Ohio/Indiana/Kentucky to call b.s. on his Appalachian shtick, too.)

It's better now, but there's still a distinct brown-to-clear line maybe 1500' AGL around cities that's extremely noticeable in a small plane. I could usually see it where I learned to fly in rural NC, but it was like a pencil line around Atlanta, Louisville, Charlotte.

It's pretty messed up that we just pretended it was fog until like the 1980s.

We were starting to get serious flight disruptions, which was going to ramp up pressure on the GOP by 500%. Dems caved right before getting a much stronger hand. Worst outcome: GOP kills the filibuster (and that's a good thing).

I just realized that a 0.6 multiplier gets you closer to "almost no one would give this age gap a second thought".

It's so annoying when DC folks say there's no room for more people. Yes, it's more dense than Fairfax, but we have mile after mile of 1500+ sq ft rowhouse with front and back yards and garages.

I live in a DC rowhouse neighborhood and loudly announce to everyone that it's a suburban area. Almost every house has three bedrooms plus a full basement and has a front yard, a back garden, AND room for parking for two cars. Most of the District is like this or less dense. That's not urban!
