8. Ink & watercolour sketch of 1 of my favourite moths - the merveille du jour. A lichen camo coloured beauty.
An ink illustration of an extremely beautiful lichen patterned moth. The drawing doesn't really do it justice, but what art could ever do to such a lovely thing? Anyway, the moth is longer than it is wide, sitting with its narrow wings folded. Its body and wings are in mottled shades of pale green, light blue, white and black. It has a fluffy body, long thin antenna, round black eyes, and slender black and white striped legs. Utterfuckingly delightful creature.

6. Ink-moth summoning circle

These aren't actually some of my imaginary ink moths. They're based on Vamuna moths that have an inky black stripe!
A colour pencil drawing of 8 white moths, each with a black horizontal stripe across their long narrow wings (which are folded in this drawing.) They're arranged at compass points around the circumference of a black ink circle, in such a way that their stripes overlap the ink, making them look camouflaged on it. In this species of moth, females are larger than males, and in the drawing the moths alternative between larger females and smaller males. So the north, east, south and west points are females, and north east, south east, southwest and northwest points are males. It's a moth summoning circle - they're summoning more moths.
