Kirikiriroa Hamilton. East of the river, left of the centre. Environment. Treaty. Trans rights. Healthcare. Education. Tax wealth not work. All of it.
I can't imagine *this* government making such a move, but I would absolutely be in favour of it.

And why aren't news outlets on here themselves? I presume at least some individual reporters are. No NZHerald, no RNZ, no Stuff, no Waikato Times, etc etc. Do they all just prefer to stay on the nazi/pedo app? Less criticism there? Nice comfy echo chamber full of idiots?

That's why he's missing. He has no tools in his "CEO For Dummies" handbook to manage this so he just leaves it to anyone who'll stand up and blurt something out, in this case Peters.

Oh we're still doing the "He didn't say that, and if he did, he didn't mean it, and if he did...." thing, are we?

"Proposes" closure? The one in Chartwell already closed recently. Are they really saying there's alternatives, that someone might come along and say "Actually we've decided against it."

Journalists that repeat this corpospeak should just go work PR there instead of pretending to report news.

Yeah but that's an interpretation, here's the actual tweet.

Eh, just don't buy 'em. Supermarkets wouldn't be stocking them if people weren't buying.

I think the quote was "we will get destroyed, and we'll deserve it." Everyone assumed with "we" he meant the GOP. Turns out it means the USA in general. Possibly extending to all of humanity.

So (if we ignore the wrong terminology) according to her, the issue is that there are people around who try and find vulnerabilities to warn the site or system owner of the issue before a bad guy finds it and exploits it for harm or financial gain?

Someone please get her to read the briefings...

Understandable but if you're a client of the latter you may wanna keep an ear to the ground in other ways.

C'mon, it's a one-stop shop. Get your vague government non-statement at the same place you get your algorithm'd transphobia and on-demand CSAM.

What could be more convenient?

Walking red carpets, cutting ribbons, and accepting praise in the form of kickbacks and knighthoods only.

1.8 million registered patients won't have 1.8m documents. The 400,000 documents claimed might conceivably belong to only 125k patients.

And no I haven't heard anything. We're with MMH so I'm expecting bad news and have told people to expect spearphishing based on medical data.

It's not even paid for by National, it's funded by parliamentary services, so you and I are paying for this.

It's an attempt to guide the conversation away from "Should we tax the wealthy more?". If we accept this framing, the best answer we can hope to get is no gain.

Reject their framing.

The question is now "Why don't the wealthy pay a fair share towards the country that gave them everything?"

Capitalism is the process of funnelling all resources to people who started with resources, so it really is the inevitable conclusion.

Luckily if you disagree with them on that, there's a pretty good chance you disagree with them on almost everything they've done the last two years...

They're still pretending "the plan" will benefit us eventually if we just give it enough time. It won't, and it was never intended to. But they will keep lying about it.

They change the target without improving the resources, then yell at the department when the unachievable goals are not achieved.
