some suspect they've installed charges on all cables supplying data to Europe. In a future conflict, they could use these to continually disrupt European communications & intelligence. Who's to say that the US/China/others? haven't done the same to us? Baseless fear? [2/2]

And they're deluded into thinking that a) dairy is necessary food (it's not - it's commodity protein delivered as coal-heat-dried milk powder used in plenty of luxury foods), [2/3]

But they're not 'the backbone of NZ' - that's a comforting but misleading narrative. The only thing that trickles down in that industry is nitrogen pollution (from urine and fossil-fuel-derived fertilizer). [2/2]

Greg James of IRD (NZ's tax department for anyone not from NZ) has chosen to replace the current obsolete, unmaintainable monolithic bespoke software system (that's what, 30 years old?)... with a similarly monolithic COTS (Commercial Off-The-Shelf) system. This fills me with dread.
