Seeing as I'm now old I thought I'd better get some suitable wheels. Carbon neutral too. 😅

I admit I'm not a qualified blessologist, but is using holy water to bless high voltage equipment OSHA approved? 🧐

Reminds me of all that "Clean Diesel" marketed to us a few years ago. Can't believe so many of us fell for it! 😄

If you missed Everything Electric in Melbourne over the weekend, here are my favorite bits, from electric police cars to EV conversions, plus an interview with Robert Llewellyn while exploring.
Check it out & share it if you want to see more long-form content like this. ❤️

Having dinner with the incredible crew of Everything Electric after the successful Melbourne show.
Looking forward to the Sydney show in March 2026.

In a different Uber, this time it's a Toyota BZ4X. Driver said that he loves the space. His previous car was a Polestar 2 which he also loved (as do I) but it's a bit small for Ubering.

Took an Uber which turned out to be an electric Omoda E5. Driver says he absolutely loves it and has done more than 35,000 km in 8 months trouble (and petrol) free. That's electric cars for you. Love hearing these stories.

I finally got the chance to explore Melbourne. The malls are absolutely packed but the Palace of Intellect is empty and smells like piss. Make what you will of that.

Working on getting a walk-through video of Everything Electric uploaded today, but here's a sneaky clip of me being a host on a panel show with some very knowledgeable, very friendly... uh... parasites? 😄

Waking up in suburban Melbourne and HOLY SPUDS the birds in Australia make AWFUL noises. So much shrieking it sounds like The War of the Worlds being filmed in the bloody trees.

So much cool stuff to see at Everything Electric in Melbourne this weekend. Check out this camper conversion of the electric Farizon Supervan from Geely. This van has mains power as standard so converting it to a camper is a piece of cake. This one even has running water.

I got to test drive & review the new Dongfeng Box, a battery powered city car with 319 km of range, bucketloads of gadgets (including V2L!) for $29,990. It's good, but as you can see, it's not perfect.

We attempted to be serious but it didn't last long. 😅 Come on down to the Melbourne Showgrounds for Everything Electric, going all weekend.

Took these sneaky pics before the doors opened at Everything Electric this morning. There is so much cool stuff to see. It's open in the Melbourne Showgrounds until Sunday night so come join the fun.

More 300 kW units being installed at ChargeNet's Bombay Hills site.
I count six chargers, meaning there'll soon be rapid charging here for EIGHTEEN clean vehicles at once.
It's a lot like Stonehenge... but useful. 😀

Been far too long since I've had the time to work on the EV conversion.
Providing I survive Everything Electric in Melbourne this weekend I want to get back in the workshop to get this thing running under its own battery power. We're not too far off either.

I really enjoyed having the Leapmotor B10 last week. It's one of those cars that you can immediately adopt with no learning required. Full review video will be out shortly but I'll be doing a live review of one on Friday at Everything Electric in Melbourne if you want to get a sneak preview. 🤫

Was scoping out the floor plan for Everything Electric in Melbourne this weekend and did a double take/swore when I saw my own dropped pavlova face in the banner among the proper reviewers.
Is there a way to attach some kind of generator to the anxiety gland? Asking for a friend. 🫠

Saturday's gonna be fun at Everything Electric in Melbourne. I'll be hosting a panel discussion on how to choose a good first electric car - and what to avoid. Looking forward to doing some test drives too. See you there.

This $29,990 NZD ($16,957 USD) Dongfeng Box has so much room for a small EV. As well as having 326 km (202 miles) per charge, it's even got lie-flat front seats! It means you can pretend you're in a Maybach without the petrol bill. 😀
Should have the video out this Friday.

As we head into summer, remember to keep combustion vehicles away from dry grass as they have a tendency to do this.🔥
This happened in NZ and 28 vehicles were damaged. Hopefully combustion cars won't cause too many forest fires this season.
