I think it has to find you at exactly the right time, I was obsessed with it in high school

the best historical comparisons are Plunkett and Simms, I think Eli has a case for being better than both. Would prefer Rivers, can make a case for McNabb, if motivated. I don't think Eli is a HOFer but replacement level? We ain't gotta lie to kick it.

You are vastly overestimating where replacement level falls on the distribution chart. Four pro bowls, three 30+ TD seasons, firmly second-tier/solid with a couple random great years but memeable and obvious flaws.

i don't endorse OP's comparison, Eli is an interesting edge case that I'm currently against and Edelman was barely replacement level.

Instead of having the millionth boring QB take you could say something nice about a defender!

Im a HOF materialist, unless you're looking at the actual ballot and naming your five guys, you're just talking for the sake of talking. I am eli out right now, because im an OL sicko who wants to make people talk about Marshall Yanda instead.

I dont even like Eli and this strikes me as a terrible comparison.

Yep, both made the championship games in 1996. Kerry Collins got in serious alcohol-related problems in 97 and the old defense got older
