I tend to forget to eat protein for lunch which gets my energy down & makes me irritable. A protein bar helps. Quick pick me up.

I, too, try to stay on top of my mental health. I made the mistake of not doing therapy this summer while my son visited and that did NOT work well for me. Yesterday, I saw my therapist before it got out of hand.

I used to blog about living with bipolar, mental health advocacy, and taking care of my son (ADHD, anxiety, migraines) & parents (dementia). Then, I organized my posts into a memoir - not a narrative, but short prose pieces.

If you find yourself in a 2-week depressive or hypo-manic, or a mixed or rapid-cycling episode, please contact your therapist or prescriber. I called my therapist yesterday and made spoke to her this morning. Last night, thoughts kept me awake, so I took sleep Rx. Self-care first.

Yes, it is. I have bipolar I, and I’m struggling now, too. Give yourself grace. We all need a break. I’m in bed now at 3:10 PM, chilling out.

I LOVE it. Those are classic, time-proven coping mechanisms.

I agree. You have my (((hugs))). I hope that your racing thoughts give you a break soon. They are exhausting. You are not alone.

I’m trying to do that now, but struggling with it. Overwhelmed by a summer of caretaking and doing too much. Living with bipolar is tough when you don’t take care of yourself.
