#LateNightWrite It's not from my current WIP, but I had to cut a joke from Book 1 that my sister loved, so I kept looking for a way to sneak it back into a future book and it finally found a home in Book 3. "Not that kind of 'borrow.'"

When he didn’t, Grace extended her glass to me. “Top me up and get on with explaining why I shouldn’t kill you.” Rather than retreat to the kitchen, I just swapped the glass in my hand for hers. She eyed my half-finished amber liquid with a sigh, then drained the rest of it.

Louis, my favourite tough yet timid tom at the local shelter, passed away suddenly last week. I am sorely missing him, wishing I could have done more to improve his time with us, and not really sure how else to grieve except to share this lovely cat face.
