This is Backpack. He was found *IN* a zipped-up backpack in KC last week. His owners brought him in today to get started on vaccines and preventative care. He was slightly spicy, like mild sauce at Taco Bell.

I held a panleuk kitten before she was euthanized today. She was so sick but purred for head kisses. If I didn’t have unvaccinated babies at home, I would’ve offered to try to get her through it. But it’s tedious and uncertain and I couldn’t risk it. Her name was Litttle Jane. 🌈💕

I held a panleuk kitten before she was euthanized today. She was so sick but purred for head kisses. If I didn’t have unvaccinated babies at home, I would’ve offered to try to get her through it. But it’s tedious and uncertain and I couldn’t risk it. Her name was Litttle Jane. 🌈💕

Stevie made a trip to work today because he hasn’t been feeling well. Low-grade fever and lots of nasal discharge, but chest X-rays were clear. @ughsighshrug.bsky.social brought him for an appt so he didn’t have to stay all day because blind cats don’t do well in strange places.

This from a girl who spent every year of K-12 having active shooter drills. She has nightmares about school shootings. I’ve received panicked texts during precautionary lockdowns and false alarms. The kids are not alright and they never will be until gun reform is taken seriously.

Hardly slept last night. Our 13yo cat, DJ Cuddlez, is very sick. He has the best vet and we have a solid plan, but this is Charlotte’s cat, the one we adopted when she was in kindergarten. He’s been with her for most of her life and I’m dreading the day when he’s no longer with us.
