I did add a splash of the vanilla to the glaze, which was a nice addition. I also tried it without vanilla and preferred the vanilla version.

Oh! I actually used a different glaze recipe (100 grams confectioners sugar, 60 ml water in a small pot, bring to a boil over high heat until thick with large bubbles) and then brushed it on as soon as the cookies were out of the oven. The glaze is from here: food52.com/recipes/6585...
