I Paint Protest Signs
@kitsappaintedsigns.bsky.social
I make protest signs from acrylic paint, used cardboard & other reclaimed materials.
I can make one for you too!
DM me to discuss.

Additionally, I do photography and work with wood, metal and resin. Also I have an interest in knitting machines.

A consideration for making your message effective.
Try to stick with about five words or fewer to remain readable from 20ft at 20mph.
Think about a protest you attended.
How many signs were unreadable from further than ~10ft?
How many were cluttered trying to squeeze in a paragraph?
My partner has me watching Homeland.
I'm trying to relax and enjoy, but it's difficult, because coming from the DC area, I know most of the places and roads they reference, but the directions are all wrong and this industrial plant is in a nonsense location and I can't just let it go.

Haven't posted much art lately.

I've been working on a sculpture that is still under wraps, but, here's something I worked out after messing around with shisha embroidery for a bit.

It will be inset in a larger piece similar to how it's shown.

I sew some, but this was my first embroidery project!

Not one of my signs, but spotted on a recent excursion outside the studio.

It's only taken weeks, but I got the bulk of the hot glue from casting off of the sculpture. Also cleaned up most of the flash with the dremel.
I might actually pull this off in time to enter into the spring CVG show.
Fingers crossed.

Just a thought on this whole I-5 thing.
Maybe it's time for some common sense regulation to reduce government gun violence.
Maybe they oughta take a gun safety class.

It's perhaps a small thing, in the grand scheme; but, would it be possible to determine what, if any, government resources/labor were used to create and/or upload the disgusting AI vids posted today by our so-called "president" and "vice president"?

Thank you.

PAY ATTENTION: ICE is filing fake 911 calls in Chicago, weaponizing emergency services to provoke local police.

Ordinary citizens would be charged with a felony. ICE calls it strategy.

Art Tip of the Moment:

Isopropyl Alcohol can help release hot glue from textured surfaces. Soak a cotton ball in alcohol and press to glue, ensuring alcohol flows under edges. Slowly pry up glue while continuing to apply alcohol along joints and edges.

Art Tip of the Moment:
A hot air solder rework station doubles as a fine-control heat gun to aid in removing cured resin from detail areas on metal surfaces.
Just don't lose track of where the nozzle is pointing and burn your fingertips.
