Every part of this is bonkers. The intro is bonkers. The transition to his health is bonkers. The mention that other presidents didn't need cognitive exams is bonkers. The claim that this screening test is somehow hard is bonkers. The idea that criticism of him is treason is bonkers. All of it.

Here are US military lawyers stating clearly that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth's "kill everybody" orders are either (1) war crimes or (2) murder.

Either way, expect prosecutions in the future.

This would be a war crime even if there were an actual war and these people were actual combatants, which there isn't and they weren't.

It's unquestionably an unlawful homicide under any form of law you wish to apply: military or civilian, domestic or international, federal or state. ...
Textbook war crime/extrajudicial killing

The opinion of the top lawyer for the command overseeing a military operation is critical to whether or not it moves forward. While higher officials can overrule the, it's rare. The one for the Southern Command vetoed the Venezuela ops; they're going ahead.

Loved loved loved Celebrity Traitors this year. Players in the normal version are all so unlikeable in the later stages, but the Celeb version is much more fun.

One man is standing up for the rule of law in Britain. His reward is to be savagely attacked by right wing think tanks, newspapers & politicians. They understand where the battle against populism is taking place. And they've marshalled their forces accordingly.

If you haven't read it, the Spy and the Traitor is a brilliant book
Oleg Gordievsky has died. What makes him so interesting is that he illustrates the stabilising role intelligence can play: he helped Reagan & Thatcher understand the USSR was genuinely worried about nuclear war, allowing them to take that into account in their policy www.bbc.com/news/article...

It's that fun time of year when the local council desperately try to use up all their remaining roadworks budget in two weeks.

Clearly the EU should let Canada join Eurovision as a mark of favour.
I had an excellent call with President von der Leyen about the road ahead for Canada-E.U. trade.

Canada and Europe are strong, reliable partners. In a shifting global economy, that matters more than ever. We’re ready to secure new transatlantic business opportunities together.

I feel a bit sick about what has happened to the US in such a short space of time. Trump and Vance today were utterly shameful. A complete disgrace.

This is thuggery from Trump and Vance, plain and simple.

They are bullying the brave true patriot Zelensky into accepting a deal which effectively hands victory to Russia. Unless the UK and Europe step up, we are facing a betrayal of Ukraine.

It feels like the US is reaching a tipping point that it's very difficult to come back from.
Breaking news: U.S. sides with Russia to vote against a U.N. resolution condemning Moscow for the Ukraine war.

Washington’s dramatic shift on the conflict marks a major break with its European allies and coincides with the Trump administration’s bid to repair relations with the Kremlin.

I think one of the most surprising things to me about what's going on in America is just how fast companies and organisations have leapt to do Trump's bidding and to show themselves willing.

Last week I was privileged enough to hear to a very elderly gentleman talk about his experiences in a number of concentration camps in WW2. I don't think I'll ever forget the things he said. This week we see Trump's inauguration complete with Musk making seemingly Nazi salutes.

I genuinely don't understand Elon Musk's obsession with the UK. He helped get Trump elected, is this now an experiment to see if his influence and money can get Reform elected here? Why does he even care? I'd be off playing with my space rockets.
