I hope someone draws this wonderful story about Tom Stoppard's Arcadia and the power of the arts to help us see things differently, to the attention of our Education Secretary. Do read it, it will lift your spirits.

My mum’s dog is a bit like a bird, in that if you put a blanket over him he will sleep.

Excuse me, but I’m still adjusting to the (post clocks changing) darkness, and was not at all prepared for snow.

Phoned up to leave a message this morning to check I’ve not fallen off a waiting list, 45 minutes later the appointment letter was delivered. Impressive timing by the NHS or me.

Stung by a bee for the first time, and it’s right on my neck. They’re nesting in our bird box, and have become territorial. I’ve now learned that only honey bees leave the stinger in, though, so the bee taught me a few valuable lessons.

The warm, dry, weather has been with us so long that I’ve run out of things to wash.

Emailed my MP for the first time in my life. So angry at what the Westminster government are planning to do to disabled people.

Had a colonoscopy for the first time today, it was quick and the worse part was the prep at home. But the staff in that department? Amazing. And remind me of the nurses in dermatology in Grey’s anatomy. Just all happy and nice.
The NHS is fucking amazing. (My colon is fine.)

It’s not often that I claim to speak on behalf of the dinosaurs that I illustrate.
But just this once, on behalf of dinosaurs everywhere , F*ck you William Sitwell, and f*ck you The Telegraph.

Went to get my (free because Scotland) eye check today that I’d been putting off for a while, and turns out I finally can use glasses! I’ve wanted them since I was a kid.

And yet there’s plenty of people out there who will continue to argue in favour of their own extinction.

As a kid watching storms like this was exciting. The power going out was thrilling. We had coal fires and a gas cooker. Now in my own house I’m just hoping nothing expensive gets damaged.

Rudely awoken by Storm Éowyn at 7am. Not a great first impression to be honest.

Glad I knew this was about to go off because of Storm Éowyn. Not good for the old heart rate to have this siren as a surprise

Hatches battened and power banks charged in preparation for storm Éowyn tomorrow.
