Thoughts on Kimi K2 Thinking
Congrats to the Moonshot AI team on the awesome open release. For close followers of Chinese AI models, this isn't shocking, but more inflection points are coming. Pressure is building on US labs with more expensive models.

When you book a flight through major travel sites, a data broker owned by U.S. airlines will sell details about your flight—your name, credit card used, and where you’re flying to the government.

We found out how to opt-out of ARC selling your travel data. A guide:

The viral "Definition of AGI" paper tells you to read fake references which do not exist!

Proof: different articles present at the specified journal/volume/page number, and their titles exist nowhere on any searchable repository.

Take this as a warning to not use LMs to generate your references!

The lens reveals: the model does NOT go directly from amore to "amor" or "amour" by just dropping or adding letters!

Instead it first "thinks" about the (English) word "love".

In other words: LLMs translate using *concepts*, not tokens.

A ton of attention over the years goes to plots comparing open to closed models.
The real trend that matters for AI impacts on society is the gap between closed frontier models and local consumer models.
Local models passing major milestones will have major repercussions.
