The Museum of Hunting and Nature in Paris is pretty unusual. They have a bunch of taxidermied large animals (polar bears, lions, deer) that you can walk right up to, rooms with drawers and walls full of weapons with notes on their provenance (mostly old nobles’ collections), art of wild creatures.

making physical objects is fun and affirming, even more so with secondhand materials. here’s a dress from an old duvet cover.

today’s secret ingredient is fried capers.

we now have some protection from elderly dog bed-wetting. secondhand flannel-backed vinyl + a cotton top simple blanket. it’ll be good for outdoor time too, but I should probably quilt it.

I recommend wearing something really cheerful when you’re feeling bad. I still/again have a sore throat that kept me awake last night, but I love this skirt I made and so do lots of folks out in the world!

dinner is scallion meatballs (@smittenkitchen), steamed rice, cucumbers vinaigrette a la Moosewoos, and kkakdugi (@maangchi). we wolfed it down!
