Off topic, but I thought I'd share this instance I just came across of the 闽南方言大词典 behaving badly. There are at least two mistakes here. Whatever the abilities of Prof. 周, this dictionary was not put together with care.

Taioanese texts—besides romanized—have overwhelmingly used 卜. It's not just 歌仔册. Even people's names used 卜.
(There has never been any significant difference in 字 usage @ 歌仔册 vs other realms, BTW.)
要 for BEH or ÀI is mostly seen in texts where 漢字 were used to explain T'nese. Not the same thing.
