As someone in the sciences, I truly believe that AI can be a very useful TOOL in things like medical diagnostics and research, provided that it remains both under scrutiny and a well-trained human eye.

aphelios would be MCH/GNB/AST! pew pew with a little astrology (since his veena clan worships the moon). SGE is a runner up for healer, but i think AST fits better thematically...

phel prefers ranged, and given his aether deficiency/needing to supplement it, casting isn't ideal. he grew up as an archer, so MCH was the next logical step! DNC also, especially when he figures out how to utilize dynamis.
with his chronic pain, he's had to make some adjustments to his fighting.

Thinking again about the inherent intimacy of how materia is formed, and the traditions around extracting and exchanging it that must have developed over the years. It's a crystallized piece of someone's very essence; how could that *not* be romanticized?

aphelios' would be a moth, something like the ja tiika moth! in normal lore, he has a shared morpho/butterfly familiar with his sister (she channels aether into it bc he has a deficiency). mechanics would involve wing scales w/ status afflictions and moon cycles, a callback to his moon worship.

for phel, if he's using his own very limited aether reserves, it feels like his veins are burning. it's how he can tell if he's using too much of his own; the more it hurts, the more he's draining from himself.
if from outside sources, it feels like a cooling balm that helps him focus on channeling
