Had a great evening in the packed @iucinema.bsky.social watching Nosferatu (2024)! Loved so much about the movie, not least of all the gorgeous costumes and production design. Love me some 1830s clothes and Biedermeier interiors.

Made myself a banner! Featuring an 1803 depiction of the Queen of the Night, a snippet of Kotzebue's Die deutsche Kleinstädter featuring an operatic name drop, and a "dolphin" from Nicola Sabbatini's 1638 manual on stage machinery.

I had a great time at The Godfather Part II at the IU Cinema last night. It'd been a very long time since I'd seen it, so it was all very fresh. I got a big kick out of Nino Rota riffing on Stravinsky during the Cuban Revolution sequence.
