You mean by stereotype not in general. The social conditioning and the literal prevention of women from entering other fields has nothing to do with it? It’s interesting in fields like law and medicine when the barriers were removed women quickly became 50% of graduates.

If this is true, why oh why is the representation of women and people of colour so disproportionately low in corporate and govt leadership? Women outperform men academically, Asian students outperform white, yet white men make up an overwhelming majority of leadership roles. Doesn’t seem like merit

Well there used to be 100% white male quota, so to change that we made small quotas for women and people of colour. What makes you think the people filling the gender and race quotas are any less qualified than those that filled the 100% white male quotas
