4. Tightened the rotation. On the second night of a back-to-back, Mike Brown turned to just 3 vets off the bench in Kevin Huerter, Trey Lyles and Doug McDermott. Left out of the group was Keon Ellis and Isaac Jones. The defensive energy of the young duo was missed.

Not sure it’s the players as much as it’s the organizations. These players are “assets”, and as such, the organizations want to protect their investments. I wouldn’t be surprised if most players wanted to play. Blame the NBA owners for the money grab with 82 regular season games.

This. I get wanting to have a spark off the bench à la Bobby Jackson, but at some point you just have to start your best players.
