​Since 1995 Kingfishers Bridge Nature Reserve has transformed 250 acres of farmland into a variety of wetland habitats. It is now a vital sanctuary for numerous endangered species of the Cambridgeshire Fens.

🎨 A botanical illustrator based in Comberton, Tina specialises in East Anglian and wetland wildlife.

🐃 Visitors often ask why we keep Asian Water Buffalo on the Reserve. We explain that they fill a vital ecological niche left by extinct wild cattle, managing fenland habitat.

Our water buffaloes aren't just easy on the eye. Their grazing of the wildflower meadows creates the perfect habitat for ground-nesting waders and a wealth of chalkland flora and invertebrates 😍🐃🦋🐦

👏 Dedicated volunteer Fade Vilkos has spent the summer collecting up old plastic sapling protectors, now almost hidden in our mature woodlands 🌳

He's turned up some other surprises along the way 🧦 but we reckon this gorgeous, huge goat moth caterpillar is his best find so far 😍
