Harvested some grapes, but the uva fragola are still not ready yet. But we have a strange fruit that I had never seen before I bought my house in Umbria. It’s called Giuggiole in Italian (jujube in English). It’s an acquired taste, but I have acquired it. In about a month, we move to the olives.

My good friend, Rohit Jigyasu, was interviewed by ANTA Archives of New Traditional Architecture, a journal published by the U of Notre Dame School of Architecture. He talks about topics such as climate change, disaster risk management, and overtourism. It is PRINT only, but info is at anta.nd.edu.

My friends George Abungu, Webber Ndoro, and Lazare Eloundou at the opening of the International Conference on Cultural Heritage in Africa: A Dialogue on the Concept of Authenticity. I am very happy to be in Kenya for this interesting meeting.

I laughed when I saw this in The Guardian. I admire the positive climate impacts of the project, but it’s not like we are discovering the benefits of wooden architecture/towns in 2025. They have existed for a very long time.

Was cleaning out my closet for the new year and came across this old shirt from the pre-“Democracy Dies in Darkness” days. My first thought…. Boy, they really don’t get it anymore. And as a result, neither do I.

Fixed it…

@wesinjapan.bsky.social You support Everton right? Not Liverpool? I saw this in Zanzibar and thought of you. But then realized I was probably wrong. 😀

Honestly, the view from my office is better, but it is only mine for 23 more days, so after 1 January, you win. 😀

I guess it’s not a good year (or even month) to be a Santos.
