I suspect the background and the whips and some of the rendering. Ethically, would you be surprised someone trying to erase and lessen colonial impacts and the origin of plants would use genAI for parts of their work, not really.

Why talk history when talking about Historical Fiction Worldbuilding~~~ *eyeroll* because it's talking about Historical Fiction. But sure, support racist assumptions because I suspected an artist used AI and was never asked why I thought it was AI beyond the report.

But talking logically with sources about colonialism is apparently ranting. Or it might just be the sniff of racism. Because you know, every time a PoC supports another PoC group for historically accurate rep it's ranting.

I didn't know England was in Asia... and I must hate white people if I'm reading white Regency England historical Fiction and asking for accuracy. Also, didn't know Finland was in Asia either.
China did have slavery in the same time period. Not better. Not as bad as the transatlantic slave trade.

I found it disturbing Regency romance skipped it. Karakki brought up China. Original thread was about historical Europe. But of course, white people justifying skipping over discussion of problematic bits of history in Historical Fiction is just a victim moment according to Kira of the Wind.

Why talk modes of production and slavery on a thread about Regency England? Because every newer BBC doc goes over it. It's not talking about how evil white people are if white people are bringing it up. Regency era also saw slavery in production of cloth for children.

Why talk about Regency England in the worldbuilding tag? Because really I was reading a ton of Regency fiction from white writers and Historical fiction also does worldbuilding. Worldbuilding happens in horror, fantasy, Science Fiction, historical fiction. I was questioning why no Black people?

Some white writers took the crash out from the Society well and included more historically accurate PoCs and then added abolitionists. (Including Koreans in Regency England (England, as in the country/location, not the time period, in general) is technically anachronistic as far as I can find).

And then there was a huge white crash out, OMG, inclusion of Black people (and PoCs) in general, means you have to talk slavery... Those same people also had no problem talking about the lack of rights for (white) women.

I informed politely to Karakki I was referring to Regency England specifically given books and not all worldbuilding is Fantasy. BTW, the same year a Black woman wrote for a Regency society that they were a little sad about the exclusion of Black people in Regency fiction and abolitionist efforts

But of course, according to Kira of the Wind, Historical fiction doesn't do any worldbuilding. And supporting colonialist activities in a reply post makes Karakki the victim. I pointed out also the places where the majority of the plants grew was not Europe.

But I always hated my adoptive name because it felt separate from me. I hated the sounds. I heated the meaning and didn't think it fit me. And the Torah figure I also disliked a lot. Also too gendered for my tastes.

Of course also, you have the fact that "adoptees" were taken from workhouses through adoption and often made to slave on farms and often the names were changed for that purpose as well.
I.e. it was a way to oppress people and a sign of ownership.

Historically, the idea of adoptive parents changing names, dates unsurprisingly to Regency era (at least) where the servants despite their given names being given whatever name suited the master or mistress of the house. There is solid evidence for spill over when they obtained wards.

Cotton candy, it's not that tragic, I can read it in an afternoon, non-Bodice ripper, it's all about limerence, romance is often served better by cartoon covers.
versus, it's all tragic, gothic, on the moors, it's about the depth of what love is in of itself, after the marriage historical fiction

It's a tone difference as well. But one form isn't particularly more difficult than the other. They have different challenges. (Saying this as an artist that's done both). Most of the old covers were acrylics since oils were so expensive. Romance also absorbed some of "Chick Lit"'s aesthetics
